Just how big is the problem?
Almost 1 billion people do not have access to safe, clean water and 2.4 billion do not have basic sanitation.
Here is a look at Africa alone. We are currently funding projects in Africa that provide sustainable solutions to the water crisis.

Central Africa Republic

CAR is located in Central Africa and due to these remote regions the need for safe, clean water and sanitation is great. CAR is one of the poorest countries ranking 171 out of 177 countries according to the Human Development Index. With an average life expectancy of 43 years old, those employed earn about a dollar a day.
 
GlobalChange.Me is currently raising funds to provide as many wells and well rehab projects as possible as well as sanitation facilities. The cost for each project varies depending on the location, and the depth of the wells and the needs associated with each project. The cost of the well rehabs, well-drilling and sanitation facilities range from about $5,000 to about $25,000.

The benefits each village receives from each well and sanitation project far outweighs the cost of the projects. Children (mostly girls) can return to school because the water supply is centrally located taking less time out of their day for hauling water. The rate of illness decreases and through this development approach, we are not providing only relief services but we are empowering communities to become self reliant. How Can a Hippo Roller Help?
In many parts of our world millions of girls do not attend school because of the daily chore of collecting water. GlobalChange.Me is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of these girls.The Hippo, with it's large drum capacity of 90 litres / 24 gallons, frees women and children from having to spend a large portion of every day dedicated to collecting water for their households and allows girls the  opportunity to attend school.
